Deaf and disabled people contact Shape all the time with questions about how to become artists, how to manage the business of being an artist and how to work in the arts and the wider cultural sector. This site aims to give you some of the answers to some of those questions. And if you need information in more detail, we can give you information about other organisations that can help. We have used feedback from disabled & deaf people to gather information from both mainstream and disability sources. The content for this site has been created by a disabled consultant, Jo Verrent, (she used to be an artist herself), supported by a steering group of disabled artists. There are two main ways to find information on the site, either through clicking the titles on the right hand side of the page, or by following the content titles on each category option below. * Tip if you want to review the site to see what kind of information is here you may find it easier to navigate using the right hand side titles, which allow you to preview page titles before visiting them by clicking on the green arrow beside the title.
