Further education is any course offered to people over 16 that does not involve studying at degree level or higher.
This includes working for National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ’s), BTEC National Diploma’s, Access courses and GCSE’s or A levels.
Most courses are between 1-3 years and are offered at colleges and sixth forms attached to schools.
