Applying for further educationTo apply for a further education course you apply directly to the college or sixth form that is running the course. You can apply to as many places as you like. You may then be invited to interviews at colleges. This will give you a chance to check out if you feel they are right for you as well as for them to check out if they think you will fit in well. You will then get either
If you get an offer, then you contact your local educational authority to sort out funding, and talk to the college about your access needs. You can ask if they have any Access or Hardship funds you can apply for. You may need a needs assessment at this point so they can work out how best to meet your needs. If you do not get offers, check with a connextions advisor about other places where you might be able to apply. If you still have no offers you need to think again about what you want to do. You might want to retake some exams or think about a different route to get into the career that you want.
